What is Obedience?

Basic obedience is teaching your dog to have manners and control in the home and in public.

Competitive Obedience trials showcase dogs that have been trained and conditioned to behave well in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. AKC trials and tests allow exhibitors and their dogs to enjoy companionship and competition as they proudly earn AKC titles.

Rally Obedience

What is Rally?

AKC Rally® is a companion sport to AKC Obedience. The handler and dog team move through a rally course designed by the judge that includes 10 to 20 stations (each station a different obedience exercise), depending on the level. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience. The handler is encouraged to communicate with the dog and a perfect heel position is not required, but there should be a sense of teamwork between the dog and handler.
